Bharat Vikas Parishad

Bharat Vikas Parishad is a socio, cultural andnon-political organization of elites of the society. It was established in 1963 with the ideals, values, motivational and inspirational influenceof Swami Vivekanand. It has more than 1500 branches all over India and has more than 68,000 families as its members. Shri Hansraj Gupta, Dr. L M.Singhviand Justice Jitendravir Gupta were among the pioneers of this organization. It has a number of distinguished and eminent personalities as its patrons including Swami Satyamitra Nand Giri ji Maharaj, Shri Jagmohan ji, Justice M. Rama Jois and Justice S. Parvartha Rao. Over the years, many Presidents and Prime Ministers of our country have visited and appreciated our programmes. A few months back, H’ble President Sri Ramnath Kovind ji was witness to the Group Song Competition finals held in New Delhi and he immensely appreciated the programme.

Bharat Ko Jano

In view of the above, ‘BharatKoJano’ (i.e. Know Your Country) Quiz Competition is prepared and staged among the School & College students so as to present a true and glorious picture of our great country before them. The aim of the competition is to inspire the youth of the country and those living abroad, to love and be proud of their country. It aims to mentally prepare them to make some sacrifices for the all-round development of our great country and propagate its greatness to the world.

The syllabus for such a vast subject cannot be precisely defined. Mission / Vision

What we have achieved

During 2001 Parishad started a Bharat Ko Jano Quiz competition for Junior & Senior groups of class 6 to 8th and 9 to 12th respectively. It was a 3 tier competition with written exams at branch level, oral round at regional level and then national level finals. About 6 lakh students are appearing annually in the written exams. Nearly 3 lakh Bharat Ko Jano books in Hindi, English, Gujarati, South Indian and other languages are distributed among the students every year.
